Family Nutrition
Just Kids is committed to providing children with nutritious meals while at our centers. We encourage children to try all foods served, from a variety of food groups. We encourage families to engage their children in healthy eating habits while at home as well. Click below for some tips from the USDA on how adults can be good nutrition role-models for children:

Just Kids is also committed to helping parents understand food allergies and foods that may trigger allergic reactions. Click here to read the Food Allergy Facts and Statistics Sheet from The Food Allergy * Anaphylaxis Network.

Summer Reminders
Summer is a special time at Just Kids. We spend time on field trips, have special outdoor activities and participate in weekly water days. These activities require the cooperation of teachers, administrators and families to make sure the students are having fun and safe experiences. Click here to read our Summer Reminders for Families - a list of policies, procedures and reminders to ensure a great summer!
Family Support
Just Kids and our partners at the Regional Office of Education provide children and parents with support services including:
- A stuffed animal lending library
- A library of child-development resources
- Periodic parent meetings and seminars
- Open houses and events (such as our annual Jingle Jamboree) that serve as informal and social family events
- Annual clothing drives
Please talk to someone in the administrative office if you desire specific resources. If your request is unavailable at Just Kids, we are able to access additional resources through early childhood association databases or through other area child-development agencies.
Just Kids seeks to provide parents with information on various support services based on the needs of your individual family. We have developed relationships with various agencies in our area that provide numerous means of assistance. Please see the administrative office if you have questions about how we can connect you to appropriate resources for your family.

Absences and Changes
Remember that absences must be called into our office so that your child’s classroom can plan accordingly for the day’s activities. Please inform the office and the classroom if any changes or additions need to be made to your child’s file. This includes address, employment or phone number changes, any modifications to your child’s schedule or daily plan and modifications to your child’s pick-up authorization.
Outdoor Play
Our classrooms will make every effort to go outside everyday, even for a short time during cooler temperatures. Just Kids provides children with numerous outdoor learning experiences in our spacious play yards. We encourage each child to explore and play freely while outdoors, which can sometimes be messy. Please make sure your child has clothing appropriate for the outdoors.
Pre-K Parent Participation
All Preschool Parents: remember that it is required for you to participate in our program a minimum of four times a year. You can attend a field trip, participate in a parent/child activity or volunteer your time in the classroom.
Fundraising
Because Just Kids is a non-profit organization, it is necessary for us to have fundraising activities. We have adopted a bi-annual fundraising schedule, asking that families participate once in the fall and once in the spring. All fundraising proceeds go directly to the classrooms for supplies and materials.
